As the dynamics of our energy requirements evolve from simple one way passive electricity supply to bi-directional active load profiles including distributed renewable generation and energy storage, new technologies are required to manage and control these increasing complexities.
The STARSINE four quadrant Statcom operates as an AC and DC voltage regulation device designed to connect to low voltage distribution networks. Its flexible architecture enables it to be used in a variety of Utility and Consumer applications. The units can be configured to operate using reactive power only, without batteries or with batteries to provide a combination of real and reactive power to control power flow to and from the grid in any quadrant. This results in the ability to improve power quality such as voltage regulation and phase balance in addition to managing power factor, renewable energy and provide battery storage integration.
